Well, it's Sunday night now, and I have begun the recovery process from last night. I have to say a big thank you for everyone who attended. It was a great night with no drama's as I had feared. There's actually not a lot to report although I suppose a present list is always in order...
From my lovely James I got a minor present, as a larger gift is to be bestowed on me on my actual birthday though this small gift shall prove most useful. 'Tis a bag I received. Shall suit me perfectly for travelling to work and so fourth.
From Phil - I received a Warehouse gift voucher, though I have no idea how much money is actually on it so I guess i've gotta find out in store
From Keiran - A beautiful green boa, a tiara, a parrot penis-warmer and some chocolate penis' do tastifully devour.
From John and Neil I received a fantastic $100 Borders voucher which I know will go towards something very special to read. I saw some very interesting art and design books the other week there so I may invest in some new reading material.
From Cameron I received a soap and exfoliating scrub. Not sure if this was some sort of hint I have stinky, bad skin or not...but the soap smells nice.
From Ash I got a bottle of Galliano, some shot glasses and a mini bottle of absinthe. Scrummy.
From James' parents I got a bottle of Sauv - sure to go down a treat
From Donald I recieved a lovely bottle of bubbles, shall also go down a champangey treat
From Nik I recieved a definite highlight of the birthday. The Aeroplane Flies High boxset. For those not in the know, this is a somewhat rare 'giftset' of all the singles from the Mellon Collie and the Inifinite Sadness album by the Smashing Pumpkins. I've been after this particular item for years now, and have never been able to aquire it. Thankfully now, I do, and shall place it somewhere nice and displayable.
From Chris and David I recieved a gift voucher for a spa massage, which sounds like it could be a very nice and relaxing way to spend an hour or however long they last.
To my memory, that was all I got from the CHCH crew, which is a pretty impressive haul I have to say. I have no idea what's going to happen with Auckland though i'm sure things there will be fun. Though to anyone whose sent my mother photo's to go on a photo-wall, shaaaaaaaaame on you! You're going to embarrass me infront of everyone. Have you no conscious?! Oh well, it can't be helped I suppose. I'll just remember to kick you. Hard.

How does it feel?
Well, that's a lie. Apparently time goes very quickly!
Tonight's the night I celebrate my 21st birthday. Well, in Christchurch anyway. My actual birthday is now only 6 days or so away....less than a week left of being 20 and not being an adult, sort of. I mean all things considered i'm pretty much domesticated now. I have a full time job, I cook dinner every night (except Thursdays) and I have a partner. Really, I should be in my mid-thirties by now. However this isn't all a bad really.....being loved is great. I like cooking, and working = money which = travelling around the world and my eventual Macbook.
I've compiled a rather eccentric playlist for tonight, the range is from Industrial (KMFDM) to Rock (Marilyn Manson, Shihad, Placebo) to Pop (Kylie Minogue) and to dance (Guru Josh, Ian Carey). There shall be much to cater for everyone. But hey, it's my birthday and i'll play the music that I want to. It's interesting to write this blog, almost a year to the day to when I posted a blog back on bebo regarding my thoughts of love and life. Things have obviously changed substantially since I wrote that. Having just re-read that blog post I made, I feel even more truely blessed at my current situation than I have in a while. I'm pretty priviliedged when it comes to my current situation. I have a brilliant partner, awesome flatmate, great landlords and friends across the country. I've moved out of home, into a different city, learnt to fend for myself.
So while I write this blog from the comfort of my bed, I should really get up and begin to organise for tonight, I'm going to try and make it as carefree as I can, but I still fear that someone is going to cause a commotion and embarrass me infront of everyone. I know the chances of this are minimal, but after my 19th birthday disaster, I wish to not repeat this sort of thing, especially for my 21st. Yes, I am celebrating it multiple times but this feels like it's the second most important party and one where the the likelihood of drama could occur at. So, fingers crossed for tonight! Lets hope that things go well and I can report back in my next post how the evening went!
Party on people!

Baby, get shakey!
Don't you hate it when you get the urge to fire off a wad knuckle children, turn some 'adult entertainment' on, and yet when you start watching it, the people on the show are half asleep, bored out of their brains and wishing they were at home doing the washing?
I mean seriously, if you're going to work in the adult industry at least make it look like you're enjoying it. For people in call centres it's easy since all we have to do is sound interested in your day, but you're on camera, people are whipping cream around the world to you, take some enjoyment and pride in your work, even if you're a whore for the camera! If you're as loose as my morals, then sure you probably can't feel that much going up you, but at least make it seem like you can, seriously. You'd have thought that the porn industry, with it's copious amounts of sex in many different environments and posistions would be an eye opening and exciting place to work, but these people seem far too uninterested in the idea. Or perhaps they are just tweaked off their heads, this is probably a more likely scenario.
Now i'm going to go listen to Jeff Buckley and get out of my ranting mood, Jeff's good like that. Jeff is God.

A very geeky rant
Alright, so the official, Hi-Def version of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer has hit the net and it's absolutely amazing. Sets a very dark tone for the film and gives us brief glimpses at some of the new characters including Arcee, The Fallen, Sideways and more. However my main gripe is the names that are being used in this film.
As much as the movie franchise is it's own separate continuity, and doesn't follow the original Generation 1 toyline/comics/tv show, many of the names they are using for this film make no real sense. I will try to avoid spoiling to much for people who don't want to go to the film and be totally in the know. But anyway....
"The Twins" Skids and Mudflap - okay, i'll admit that Skids is a G1 name, but who the hell liked Skids anyway? He was one of the most pointless characters, and whatever screentime he did have was quickly made irrelevant. Surely out the entire fictional world of Transformers the names for the twins could've been better. Mudflap is a craptastic name, and only major use in TF lore was during the abhorrent Cybertron line. Personally, even using names such as Cliffjumper and Gears would've worked better. Anything better than Skids and Mudflap, really!
Sideways as an Audi R8 is sort of disappointing too, as I was sincerely hoping that this was Barricade in a new disguise, since his 'official' death is not on screen I hoped he would return for this film, but it seems not. Sideways as a name is typically linked in with being a herald or subordinate of Unicron, so with the inclusion of The Fallen in this film, who knows quite what they will do....I'm still hoping we see some sign of Barricade in this film, even if he is killed off early on.
Demolishor - COME ON! If there's really only going to be six constructicons in this film, why on earth do you get rid of Scavenger when it appears on one of the toys! If Hasbro has lost the rights to the name Scavenger, which I don't think they have, then that's understandable. But as decent a name as Demolishor is, it shouldn't replace dear old Scavenger.
As for the others such as Arcee, Jetfire, Soundwave and more, quite happy with them as they make a lot more sense. Strangely enough i'm not too fussed about Jolt being in the film, since he's essentially a totally new character as well as Skids/Mudflap. Perhaps it's their ugly mugs that makes me dislike the characters more than I should. We shall have to wait and see how the film turns out before I make any final judgements.
Here's a link to the trailer. Watch, enjoy, drool.

I love blogging
I'm sitting here on the bed, listening to music and typing this blog. I feel like i'm Carrie Bradshaw. Only i'm not a fictional character, rich, living in New York or friends with Samantha, my SATC idol. Bugger.
Still, blogging is great. I don't even know if anyone is reading this. I'd love to hear from you if you are, just so I don't feel like i'm completely talking to nobody and seem crazy.

Pompous gits
Right well, today at that fun filled place called work, we got Blain, one of the CSR's come in to give us some teachings. Now, previously, I found this guy to be a complete and utter tool to the highest degree, as when he had "taught" us prior, he treated the 11 trainee's as if were were primary school students, and he were a sergant in the army. I really don't know why he has such a persona around him, but he does. Everything about him was screaming 'I think too much of myself'.
Anywho, so we have him today, and after having buddied with him on the phones I thought I would give him a second chance, as he didn't seem as bad when he was on the phones. I figured we were just giving him a rough time and he was just a eccentric fellow. Well, he certainly proved me wrong. As usual the troublemakers (amusing as they are) in the class were giving him a bit of grief, so instead of taking it in jest, or being rational, he decided to yell QUIET and subsequently make almost everyone in the classroom jump out of their seats. It was completely and utterly uncalled for. Yes there was talking going on, and yes it may have needed to be addressed. But there was no way that the action he took was the correct one, and from that second I lost and all respect for him, and that will not be gained back.
This poor fellow really does seem to have some sort of superiority complex, when he is tutoring us, he quickly tries to assert his authority in any way that he can, which really doesn't work when the people he's tutoring are only a year or two older than him (I assume he's mid twenties) or in some cases, older. Also, arrogance does not make for a good teacher, trying to stare and stand down people just for authorities sake just made us resent him more. He told me having my inbox open 'not work related' - sorry douche, but actually it was, since it was my WORK email with WORK emails in it (admittedly, I was reading one from Claire, but I digres).
All in all, Blain can go suck a fuck.

The great reset!
Well, I haven't really updated this in a few days, reason being that I have been busy reformatting my computer. For the most part this is all technical things WAY beyond my head, but I got the jist of what was happening.
However, on the more interesting side, my iTunes library has now also been completely reset, which now means perhaps a more realisitic 'top 25' as I felt that the previous top 25 wasn't that accurate. I guess it was, since it logged all my listens to songs, but they were at the time when Eat Me, Drink Me was a new album and I couldn't stop listening to it. Now I feel a lot cooler towards the album so disagreed that I listened to it as much as it claimed I did. So hear me now, from Saturday 7 February 2009, we will have a new age of my top 25 list!

Ramblings from a Tuesday evening
Right well, it's been a few days since I blogged last so I figured I should update this thing with whats been going on!!
Well not a hell of a lot as it turns out. For the most part I have been doing not much more than watching the teaser trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen over and over again. Sure it's only 31 seconds, but it's 31 seconds of absolute Transformers fanwankery. Lots of new characters are (briefly) seen as well as old favourites. The first official trailer is out on Feb 14 NZ time and shall make for my perfect valentine from Paramount Pictures/Michael Bay.
Work is going well, yet also exhaustively busy and stressful. Trying to learn obsolete programs sucks! But at least the people are good fun, when not getting us in trouble for taking 'work drinks' a little too far. But oh well, can you blame them? Free fucking wine! Of course use newbies were gonna go overboard with the free stuff. We're in a recession so why not take as much as we can for free?!
Speaking of the recession, I have to go type up a special CV so I can try to keep my job longer than June, as we have to reapply for our jobs. Needless to say I am unlikely to get it but if I stick it out I may be able to get a decent 'retention package' from them, which would suit nicely.
Shorter blog post than I had intended so I may update later, but for now I am going to go talk to Kieran who has just arrived home from work. Time to gossip!
